TO-DO Interlude in Knysna Self Catering ChaletFor those of you who just want to unwind, relax on Bollard Beach or pack a picnic and take it up to Jubilee Creek and enjoy strolling alongside the river. The drive into the forest is beautiful, park your car and enjoy a stroll along well maintained paths, The Knysna Big Tree is well worth a visit too. If you're wanting guided tours there are many tour operators who have a variety on offer: Knysna Forest and River Tours, Thole Township Tours and for the more energetic there are cycle tours through the forest and kayaking on the Knysna Lagoon. Whale watching out at sea is world class and you can also go sailing out the heads and for the very energetic there is kite surfing with lessons available. If you feel like really stretching your legs a trip to Noetzie to see the castles on the beach is well worth a visit. There is ample parking and the steep path down to the beach is well marked. There are three golf courses in Knysna and a driving range that welcome visitors. The Knysna Tourist Office is on the Main Road and they are very helpful if you should need any assistance in finding a particular activity. What's To Do from Interlude on The Garden RouteThe Garden Route has much to offer visitors to our area. If you head out east on the N2 you can spend a day at the Elephant Park, laze on the beach at Plettenberg Bay or have a meal at one of the many restaurants overlooking the bay. On the road to Plett is Monkeyland where you can walk among these playful little creatures. For the more adventurous, there are the tree top tours in the Tsitsikamma Forest and bungi jumping off the Storms river bridge. For the surfers, Jeffrey’s and St Francis Bay, a world renowned hangout for the surfer dudes, is a 2 hours drive on the N2 from Knysna. If you head west on the N2 you will be able to enjoy the Scarab Market at Sedgefield or enjoy a lovely walk on the beach at the Wilderness. Mossel Bay also has much to offer including the Marine Museum and lovely restaurants on the beach.
